To delete items from your workspace that you no longer need, including Microsoft Office documents, lists, and notes, you must move them to the Deleted Items workspace. After you move a document to the Deleted Items workspace, it remains there for 30 days before it is permanently deleted. If you change your mind during this time, you can restore the document to its original workspace.
To access the Deleted Items workspace, on the left navigation bar, click Deleted Items. The Deleted Items workspace is organized in a list format, with columns showing the file name and original workspace location, and the time and date of the deletion and the file size. To sort the list, click any column heading.
Move a document to the Deleted Items workspace
Before moving a document to the Deleted Items workspace, you should note the following:
-
Only the document owner and Editors can delete a document. Those who have Viewer sharing access to a document can remove the document from view, but they cannot permanently delete it. To learn how to hide a shared document from view, see Share workspaces and documents using Office Live Workspace.
-
All Office Live Workspace comments associated with a document are permanently deleted when you move the document to the Deleted Items workspace.
-
If you have saved a link to the document in your Favorites list, the link will no longer work after you move the document to the Deleted Items workspace.
-
When you send a shared document to the Deleted Items workspace, all sharing sessions end. Those with sharing rights to the document may initially still see the document in their Shared with Me list if they haven't refreshed their screen after you deleted the document. If they try to view the deleted document, an error message appears.
To move a document to the Deleted Items workspace:
-
In Office Live Workspace, locate the document that you want to delete. Then do one of the following:
-
Select the check box beside the name of the document that you want to delete. On the toolbar, click Delete.

Restore a deleted document
After you move a document to the Deleted Items workspace, it remains there for 30 days unless you permanently delete it. If you change your mind about deleting the document, you can restore it to its original workspace location at any time while it is in the Deleted Items workspace.

Note : Any comments and sharing rights that were associated with a document before you moved it to the Deleted Items workspace are lost when you restore it to its original workspace location.
Permanently delete a document
After you move your document to the Deleted Items workspace, the document still occupies workspace storage space. If you see a warning notice at the top of your Office Live Workspace screen indicating that you have limited storage space remaining, you may want to free up space by permanently deleting documents that you no longer need.

-
In Office Live Workspace, on the left navigation bar, click Deleted Items.
-
In the Deleted Items workspace, select the check box next to the name of each document that you want to permanently delete. In the toolbar, click Delete.
