HI Guys,

Over the last couple of days I haven't been able to open documents simply by clicking 'Edit' in OLW (this has worked seamlessly for the last two years). After pressing Edit, I get the standard 'Some files can harm your computer' message followed by an Internet Security message. After pressing 'Allow' nothing happens. It’s possible to ‘save as’ and then work on the document locally but this document does then not show up in Excel Recent docs (and as I like to ‘pin’ docs for easy access this is quite frustrating) Can anyone help?

One thing I have noticed is that the program it wants to open (from the Internet Security message) is XML converter - is there any way of re-associating Excel 2007?

Update: Got the same problem with Word docs too

I was having the same problems with opening Excel files for editing, from my Workspace. Please follow this link, I think it can help:

Also for that XML converter message that you are getting, go ahead and check the box that will always allow.

Interesting! There was a security update (patch I think) released a couple of days ago against IE8 - unless I'm just late with my windows updates
