    Outlook Connector Configuration

When I open Outlook Connector, I noticed that my Office Live/Hotmail accounts are listed but under the Data Files tab they all have "Not Available" listed for the file name.  Why Is that?  I thought I read that Outlook creates some .ost files for use when you are offline for these accounts.

    Outlook 2007, Outlook Connector v12.1

Thanks for any help any one can provide?

    Kindest regards,

    -Dan

    Re: Outlook Connector Configuration

Hi, Just wondering if I am posting this question in the wrong forum or is there a sort of iron curtain around the crappy connector, oh I mean outlook connector??? LOL

All jokes asides...I have since discovered a neat little paper that someone posted with some excellent directions on how to set up POP3 in outlook 2007 - YES, you can get your office live (aka hotmail) to "Properly" populate a personal folders file and USE the default CALENDAR and CONTACTS and TASKS and To-DO...

But, being the curious person that I am I would still like to understand the workings of the outlook connector as i have to support myself and others who use it.  If there is some master User/admin guide that I should read that answers all of my (possibly) ID10T questions...I would be happy to RTFM....is there such an all knowing do tha exists???

    Please help...

    Re: Outlook Connector Configuration

Outlook Connector does create OST files in the default Outlook mail store directory, such as:

    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\

Apparently you cannot move these files however so Outlook marks them as "not available" in the Account Settings\Data Files Dialog box.
