    Can't insert Custom Footer Module

I am unable to insert a custom footer module.

PC is Windows XP; IE 7. The website is a fourth-level subdomain. The web page is from the "General" template. Nothing else on the page. Just select Module/custom footer. No changes to the code at all. When I click on OK, an error message pops up:

There's a problem with the XSLT code. It may contain an infinite loop, large data set or syntax problems. Please check code an try again.

An error occurred while parsing EntityName. Line 1, position 44.

Since I did not modify any of the code in the module, there must be something else going on. Has anyone else run into this?

By the way, I can insert custom footer on a web page on a different site (same PC and browser; different LiveID/website).

Re: Can't insert Custom Footer Module

I figured this out. There was an ampersand (&) in the company name that I had placed in the standard footer of the website. Since ampersands (&) are not legal in XLST, the software for the custom footer module fails to properly resolve the placeholder for what I entered in the footer.

I simply replaced the "&" with the word "and" in my footer.

By the way, I managed to discover this by clicking on the "View XML source" link in the upper right corner of the custom footer dialog. It spit out an error message with the location of the problem; so I was able to determine that it was the text I'd entered in my site Footer.
