Hi everyone. I wanted to give you advance notice that on September 12 and September 19, we will be upgrading the Microsoft Office Live Small Business servers that host your website.

What does this mean to you?

On just one of these days, your public website will be unavailable for up to three hours. During this brief downtime, visitors to your site will see a message alerting them of the outage, and asking them to check back shortly. You will be able to log in to your Office Live Small Business account and access your e-mail during the upgrade, but you will not be able to use the site-management tools.

We have scheduled these updates on a Saturday, generally the lowest day for site traffic, in order to have as little impact on your website as possible.

While these upgrades will improve the performance, reliability, and stability of your website, we apologize in advance for any inconvenience this scheduled maintenance may cause.

I use office live through microsoft business conatc manager 2003 and and have lost my connection.  How do I get it back?

I've lost contact through Apple Entourage 2004 -- is this associated with the upgrades?

I am also have trouble accessing my site management tools this afternoon. Sounds like a major outage. I also had a client tell me that my site was not accessible for up to an hour earlier today.

Will this upgrade correct the problem some members, including myself, are having with site reports not updating?

I have not been able to access my MSOL small business calendar for 4 days now. I have missed several business meetings thus far. Yes, I know that should have a back up calendar, however I still do not think that I should have to go through 4 customer reps who still have not been able to resolve this problem.

I really need help, especially since NOW MSOL small business "Live " help is no longer available. I need live help. This 4 days of processing and corresponding is not good.

Frustrated

I do not like the idea of having to blog in order to maybe have someone assist me with resolving why for the last 4 days I have not been able to access my MSOL calendar.

Every time I click the "contact us" or "help" I get bounced to this screen instead of getting in contact with  a "LIVE" real-time response.

THis is frustrating

Can we also know which period of the day it would be. The blog says "up to 3 hours". If we know the time period, it would help a lot!

Thanks!

Well my MSOL has been out of action for the last couple of days.  It's no big deal as I can sign in online, but I haven't known what was going on until now.

Hopefully things will be rectified shortly, including the minor issues I have with Office Outlook

Thanks for this notice.  I've been very critical of the OLSB team for the surprise outages of the website and other bits like the Windows Live Calendar that was out for a couple of hours yesterday.  We all understand that there are hiccups from time to time and schedule maintenance that may impact our websites.  All we ask is that we at least receive some notification either in advance as with this notice or in response to an unexpected issue.  On August 28, OLSB sites were down and there was not a single note of explanation to the dozens of requests for information flowing into this community site (and the support email, I'm sure).  That sort of behaviour is not acceptable.  This prior warning notice is considerably more responsible.  Thank you.

Will this upgrade include enhancements to the OL Advanced Design Tools?  It would sure be great if more types of applications and code languages were integrated (ie: .php, custom site search, etc).  Thanks for the advance notice :-)

Thank you Microsoft for the E-Mail notification of this too.

My only wishes are that the upgrade changes the picture selector a bit.

When I'm selecting a picture for a slideshow, I have to wait for EVERY picture to load, and then scroll through. Why not make multiple pages, like you did for adding an individual image? That would make life sooo much easier.

But anyways, if you even read this Microsoft, everything else has been good. I'm happy!

Thanks.

I have tryed to put flash on my site and have not been able to for over a year now. I have tryed o use dreamweaver to post the flash to the site, however the server would not grant my access to log into the network folder that microsoft had provided to my URL. Please tell me that while the servers are being maitinanced that a microsift and developer will make it easyer to upload .fla flash content to microsoft web sites. I have tryed every option there is to do this and have had no luck, microsoft live small business only has online support but noone ever gets back to me to say if I am doing what it says to do in the how to of the webpage builder. If some one at microsoft could look into this it would be great.

And now it is monday evening and it still says the same thing.  I think there must be some other problem.

Since the Officelive upgrade on the 19th I have been getting the following error message when trying to update opportuntities records in my office live contact's

"Opportunities must be associated with an existing company or contact. Select a company or contact to associate with this opportunity and try again."

however contact field lists the associated contact in just the same way as it did before the upgrade. This problem is causing real difficulties for the administration of my business - What should I do?
