Searching for angel investment and venture capital just got a bit easier, thanks to Angelsoft. TechCrunch reports that the angel and VC funding site just launched an investor filtering tool that lets business owners access detailed profiles of more than 1,000 U.S. venture capital firms and angel investor groups.

Overall, Angelsoft lists more than 400 angel investment groups and 15,900 investors worldwide.

The filter tool lets users sort results by the amount of money a firm typically invests, the terms they usually offer, and the types of businesses they invest in. The investor profiles include a description of the fund, industry expertise, past investments, profiles of key executives, and links to investors' LinkedIn profiles.

Some 450 investment groups also use Angelsoft's VC and Angel deal-flow management tools. For these groups, entrepreneurs can get even more detailed data, such as the average time it takes the investment group to reply to requests for funding, the average number of applications the group gets each month, and more details on past investments.

As of December, Angelsoft participants were getting an average of 3,000 applications a month. Of those, nearly 3 percent typically get funded. Hopefully, the new filtering tool will help young companies better target the investors they apply to, and increase the number of companies that find funding.
