If you didn’t read my first post on the subject, the Office Live User Assistance team is continuing to produce videos that provide step-by-step instructions for common Office Live Small Business tasks.

We recently rolled out these six new videos based on top customer questions:

1. Set up e-mail alerts. Set up e-mail notifications about changes to your Business Applications and Contact Manager sites.

2. Customize the Reports dashboard. Customize your Reports dashboard to track the performance of your Web site.

3. Add a subscriber to a contact list. Add customer contact subscribers to your contact list.

4. Work with website images. Learn how to upload, edit, and place images on your website.

5. Redirect your domain to Office Live Small Business. Learn how to point your existing domain to the Office Live Small Business service.

6. Rename an Office Live Small Business domain. Learn how to change your Web site domain name.

Several new Office Live Small Business feature and service improvements are coming soon, and we are currently planning videos to help you take advantage of the changes right away.

In addition to this, I'd love to include videos that address your top questions, if we haven’t done so already. Any suggestions? Please leave a comment below.

Hi,

I've been thru a lot of the vids - am I missing something? In Contact Manager, is there NO way within a contact record, or an opportunity record, to SCHEDULE some type of action with that contact or opportunity? It would be pretty crazy for a contact manager to require me to go out to another application, like calendar, to create a reminder to call the client at some time in the future. Scheduling when you make contact with your clients and then recording the result of that contact and scheduling the next contact is the MOST BASIC feature of a contact manager. I just don't see any way to do this. I can create a phone log after the fact but can't schedule the next one. And no basic task list... Please please tell me I am wrong - I thought the Office Live Small Business was going to be my salvation.

Deb,

We have had some intermittent technical problems with the server hosting the videos. As soon as this is resolved, I will re-post. My apologies-- how annoying.

Buck,

I am discussing your question with Barclay, who covers Contact Manager. She'll sign in herself and follow up on your question shortly.

Thank you Cheryl. I appreciate that and am really looking forward to her comments. As I mentioned, from reading all the "Learn More" promo material it sounded like this system was going to solve my CRM-website integration issues.

One other thing that I don't see addressed is anything regarding how the Outlook Connector interacts with an Outlook that is already installed and set up with an already established email address different from the one that was set up within OLSB. Do I have to create a new account in Outlook? I don't want to start the thing up and have it overwrite all of my folders and emails because it thinks it needs to "update" Outlook to match my OLSB email. (Sorry if that was confusing and convoluted...)

Cheers,

Buck

I have had my ridgeviewIIhoa.org web site for some time.  I subsequently started a second web site on Office Live Small Business.  I need to add content and correct some spelling on my original site.  However, when I bring up Manager, the existing heading are listed for my original site but almost immediately, the home page for my second site appears.  I need to delete or otherwise get rid of the second sites home page and any content in it.  I think this second site is not populated with any pages.  Please help me delete or otherwise get rid of this interference on my first web site.

Sincerely, Jack Jory

Buck, I'm sorry for the delay. I have been working with the product teams to get answers for you. Currently, I only have an answer to your Outlook question.

Yes, you need to create a new account in Outlook but that should not impact any accounts you currently have. To do so, connect to your Office Live account in Outlook by going to Tools > Account Settings > E-mail tab > New > Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP and filling in the blanks. You will have to re-start Outlook, but none of your folders or accounts will be over-written. Let me know if you run into any problems.

I'm still working on getting an answer to your Contact Manager question.

And one more answer on the using Contact Manager to schedule follow-up tasks. Currently the only way to do this is by using Outlook Connector and your Outlook Calendar. It is a feature that the team would love to add to the functionality, so look for it in future releases.

Hi. Really new to this, but not completely stupid. I have done a web site for my new business, but can't see it anywhere out in the real world - why? Have slotted tags into the pages etc.

You need different email and officelive accounts for each website.

I am hoping that my new web-ste is ready to go live in the very near future.

Is it absolutely necessary to change my domain name? If so, is there a fee involved?

Your how-to videos are not taking me to how-to videos. I have clicked on each and this is the web page I keep getting:

www.bing.com/.../browse

These are movie clips not how-to videos.

This is one of your how-to links:

video.msn.com/video.aspx.

This link takes me to the Bing link. I thought it might be because I was using Firefox, but then I inserted the URL into an IE8 url box and got the same thing.

Can someone please help me!!!!!!

I have followed the instructions to point my newly created officelive website to my domain name (www.golfsinnersecret.com) but my hosting company say that there is a problem with the IP Address. I am using the one I was given on your site: 65.55.194.97

I am not very technical and don't know the questions I should be asking. All I know is that I need the above domain name to show my officelive site.

How do I don that but very urgently?
